The St. Gregorios Orthodox Syrian Church in Mysuru is gearing up to celebrate its most-awaited annual Feast of St. Gregorios of Parumala, the patron saint of our church, along with the joyous Harvest Festival from Sunday, October 29, 2023, to Sunday, November 12, 2023, our church will be filled with devotion, celebration, and thanksgiving.
This grand celebration is a time for the congregation and the community to come together, reflect on the teachings of the Lord, and express gratitude for the bountiful harvest. It’s an occasion that holds a special place in our hearts as we honor the memory of our beloved patron saint.
The Chief Guest: Rev. Fr. Varghese Abraham (Shiju Achen)
This year, we are immensely honored to have Rev. Fr. Varghese Abraham (Shiju Achen) as our chief guest for the celebration. Achen will grace us with his presence and share his wisdom and spiritual insights during this sacred period. His sermons promise to be inspiring, enlightening, and spiritually enriching for our congregation.
Rev. Fr. Varghese Abraham, is the Manager of our Koratty Aramana and is renowned for his spiritual leadership, extensive knowledge of the Orthodox Christian faith, and his ability to connect with the hearts of the faithful. His presence during the Feast of St. Gregorios of Parumala is indeed a blessing, and we look forward to his guidance and blessings.
Feast and Harvest Festival Highlights
The annual Feast of St. Gregorios of Parumala and the Harvest Festival will be marked by a series of events and activities that will bring the community together in a spirit of joy and unity:
Special Prayers and Worship: Special prayers and worship services will be conducted throughout this period. This is also a time for us to reflect on our Patron Saint’s saintly life and strive to live by his example.
Sermons by Rev. Fr. Varghese Abraham and Rev. Fr. Aneesh K. O.: The chief guest will be delivering insightful sermons, guiding us on our spiritual journey and sharing the wisdom of our faith. Our Vicar Rev. Fr. Aneesh K. O. will also be giving a Devotional Address.
Cultural Programs: Our vibrant community will come alive with cultural programs and events that celebrate our rich heritage and traditions with Gana Susrusha.
Procession: A Perunal Rasa in all its pomp and glory is also arranged.
Feast and Food Festival: The Harvest Festival wouldn’t be complete without delicious feasts and a food festival. Come, savor the mouthwatering Love Feast(Sneha Virunnu) prepared with love and care.
Charitable Activities: In keeping with the spirit of the Harvest Festival, we will also be conducting charitable activities, focusing on sharing our blessings with the less fortunate.
