MERAKI 2022
Psalms 51:10 – “Start over with me and create a clean heart within me”
Meraki is a Greek word which means “To do something with love, creativity and soul”

Over the many years we had a set pattern for one day conferences and we decided to bring in a fresh breath of air by having a conference exclusively for Team building activities this year. We had a total number of 83 participants from all the four parishes i.e. St. Gregorios Cathedral, St. Andrews Valliyapally, St. George and St. Mary’s church of Hyderabad region.

The conference started with a word of prayer by our vicar Rev. Fr. Iype.P.Alex and continued with lighting the lamp with a small felicitation arranged for the newly elected Sabha managing committee member Mr. Thomas John and Diocesan council members Rev. Fr. Iype.P.Alex and Mr. Babukutty Thomas. We also had the presence of Rev. Fr. Simon Joy and Dn. Shibin John for the entire duration of the conference.

During the day, the participants had been divided into 5 teams named Nazareth, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Bethany and Jericho. Starting with the ice breaker session we had a various fun filled activities which captured the essence of the word MERAKI (celebration of love, creativity and soul) into our hearts.

There was a group activity to build a skit based on real-life problems, youth of the modern times face (relationships, alcohol/drug addiction, abuse of social media etc..,). The participants were creative and enacted the stories with a dose of humor and lots of moral lessons. We also had an interesting activity to make ten commandments out of the daily newspapers we read and ended the day with a cooking without fire activity. In between, we also had a beautiful sing along session where everybody tagged along and harmonized together.

All participants were treated with sumptuous breakfast, lunch and snacks,  and we thank the managing committee members of the host church for a delicious and sumptuous meal. All in all, each and every individual participated actively and had loads of fun making memories and cherishing for the rest of their life.

Finally we thank, God Almighty for letting us have this opportunity and making this conference a memorable and a blessed day.
