21st Parish Feast of St.Gregorios Orthodox Church, Mathikere (23 Oct – 1 Nov 2022)

By the Grace of Almighty God, St.Gregorios Orthodox Church, Mathikere, celebrated the 120th Memorial feast of St.Gregorios of Parumala (The first declared saint of Malankara(Indian) Orthodox Syrian Church) and 21st Parish feast, from 23rd October to 1st November 2022.

The Parish feast of St.Gregorios Orthodox Church, Mathikere, began with the customary flag hoisting (Perunnal Kodiyettu) on 23rd October 2022 soon after the Holy Qurbana which was celebrated by Rev.Fr.Geevarghese Joseph K (Fr.Prathap)-(Director & Chaplain of MGOCSM Students Center, Davangere), the Perunnal flag was hoisted by Vicar Fr.Skariah Mathew. On the same day a family gettogether was held,the session was led by Dr.Sino Kevin (family counsellor) and ended it with Love Feast. Evening prayers were conducted on the next following days.

On 29 October 2022 Holy Qurbana was celebrated for Senior Citizens.
The Perunnal convention was held from 29th October to 31st October 2022.
Rev.Fr.Yohannan K (Faculty, St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary) led the convention with his devotional speech. Rev.Fr.Santhosh Samuel blessed the convention with his presence.

On 31st October 2022, the eve of perunnal, Evening prayers were conducted and devotional address was given by Rev.Fr.Yohannan K.
The Perunnal procession started from: St.Gregorios Orthodox Church Mathikere -> Ramaiah College Junction -> St.Marys Cross Tower -> St.Gregorios Orthodox Church Mathikere. Neighbouring Orthodox Churches joined this blessed feast. Rev.Fr Anish Varghese and Rev.Fr.Joshua(Fr.Emil) blessed the occasion with their presence.The Procession ended with a benediction and dinner

On 1st Nov 2022, The Perunnal Day, Holy Trimass (Vishudha Mooninmel Qurbana) was celebrated.
Very.Rev. Abraham Ramban was the chief celebrant, Rev.Fr.Nithin V Rajan and Rev.Fr. Tiji Thankachan were the Co-Celebrants. Rev.Fr. Anish Varghese gave the Perunnal Message. Rev.Fr.Mani Varghese and Rev.Fr.Yohannnan K. blessed the occasion with their presence. Many devotees from various Orthodox churches attended the feast seeking the intercession of St.Gregorios of Parumala.
